Public Assessments

Hello and welcome!

There are 20 different levels and each level has its own course. We, therefore, offer 19 evaluation tests covering Levels 2 – 20. Level 1 does not have an evaluation test as it is designed for those that cannot speak any English.

You can see the outcomes for each course by clicking on the "outcomes" text link to the right of each test icon. The outcomes are what you can expect to learn and what you should have achieved at the end of that specific course.

Before you can determine which course is best suited to your level of English knowledge, you need to take two evaluation tests. These tests are free of charge and consist of multiple-choice questions and listening to audios. You can take one or more of these tests whenever you wish.

All students should take the Level 10 evaluation test first and a second test thereafter; which test you take second will be determined by the score that you get for the first test. The Level 10 test will then allow you to see which test you should take next to get a more accurate assessment of your actual level. Once you take the second test, you will have a more precise idea of the course level for which you should enrol.

To access a test, click on the icon next to the level you wish to take and the test will open. You will also need to listen to the audio. You should then answer each question by clicking on the answer that you think is correct. Each question only has one answer. After selecting your answer, proceed to the next question by clicking the “Next” button.

To summarise, first, take the Level 10 test and see the score that you attain. Then use those results as a guide to take the second and more accurate tests. Don’t worry if the Level 10 test is too difficult or too easy; simply do your best. Your second test will be more accurate and will help you to better assess your actual level.

Once you have taken the first test, you should then choose the second test level based on these results –
